Definitely not. Actually, one of the ingredients that made the LEAST sense in mouthwashes on the market to our CEO and Founder, Dr. Kourosh Maddahi, was alcohol. Denatured alcohol is a drying agent (saliva is vital to good oral health) and has been linked to all kinds of health problems.^13,14 It’s in other mouthwashes because it kills bacteria and is a cheap preservative. Plus, it’s a gimmick that causes a burning sensation we were conditioned to think meant the mouthwash was working.
